Diversity and Inclusivity Committee

Dream Team's Diversity and Inclusivity Committee was created to ensure that our members embrace diversity in the pediatric unit and foster inclusion in our volunteer initiatives. Through diversity workshops, events, and discussions, the committee intends to uplift and support all kinds of identities.

American Sign Language

In this workshop, guest lecturer Professor Santiago discussed and taught members American Sign Language, particularly relevant in a hospital setting.

GENDER IDENTITY & SEXUAL ORIENTATION

In this workshop, we discussed the health care disparities experienced by the LGBTQ+ community as a result of discrimination, lack of education, and stigmatization.

Rural Women's
Health Project

In this workshop, guest speaker Anna Villagomez discussed the Rural Women's Health Project. The Rural Women's Health Project is a health justice nonprofit that seeks to strengthen communities and their understanding of critical health and social justice issues.
